Established in 1954. Kunming University of Science and Technology, abbreviated as KUT or KG, is a full-time public undergraduate provincial general higher education institution in Kunming, Yunnan Province, the People’s Republic of China. Its predecessor was Kunming Institute of Technology. Kunming University of Science and Technology is a comprehensive university with engineering as its main focus, combining science and engineering, with distinct industry and regional characteristics, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines. It is the largest key university in Yunnan Province with a complete range of levels and categories. It ranked #1153 in Best Global Universities.

Kunming, abbreviated as Kun, also known as “Spring City“, is the capital of Yunnan Province, the People’s Republic of China. It is a regional central city facing South Asia and Southeast Asia, a national historical and cultural city, an international comprehensive transportation hub city, and also the political, economic, cultural, scientific and technological center and transportation hub of Yunnan. Kunming is known as the “Spring City” because it has a typical temperate climate with no scorching heat in summer and no severe cold in winter .
